What We Treat

Worried about growth, puberty, thyroid issues, weight, or hormone changes that don’t feel “normal”? You’re not alone, and you’re not overreacting.

At The Endocrine Company, we specialize in hormone health for children, teens, and adults. Our practice blends advanced endocrine testing with unhurried visits and clear explanations, so families finally understand what is going on and what to do next.

This page gives you an overview of the most common concerns we treat, with quick paths to more detailed condition pages and next steps.

Our Approach to Endocrine Care

Hormones influence nearly every system in the body, including growth, energy, mood, metabolism, sleep, and development. That’s why we don’t rush to a single answer or assume one lab result tells the whole story.

At The Endocrine Co., we:

  • Listen first. We take parents’ concerns seriously and create space for kids, teens, and adults to share what they’re experiencing in their own words.
  • Look at the whole picture. We review growth charts, medical history, nutrition, activity level, and family patterns—not just a single symptom.
  • Use targeted hormone testing. When labs or imaging are needed, we explain why, what we’re checking, and how results shape treatment.
  • Create practical plans. Treatment might include watchful monitoring, lifestyle guidance, hormone therapy, or other medical options, always tailored to your goals and stage of life.

Our goal is simple: clarity, confidence, and care that fits real life.

Growth Concerns

A child’s growth pattern is one of the clearest signals of overall health. Concerns may arise when a child seems much shorter or taller than peers, clothes don’t fit as expected, or the growth curve suddenly slows or speeds up.

Common reasons families call us:

  • Height or weight that’s falling off the usual growth curve
  • A child who’s always been “small” and isn’t catching up
  • Very rapid height gain or outgrowing clothes quickly
  • Differences in growth between siblings

Growth differences can be related to:

  • Growth hormone deficiency
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Puberty timing
  • Genetics, nutrition, chronic illness, or medication effects

How we help

We start with detailed growth charting, physical exam, and targeted labs. When needed, we may order imaging or bone age X-rays. From there, we talk through options, from simple monitoring and nutrition plans to growth hormone or other treatments when appropriate. The goal is not just inches on a chart, but helping your child feel strong, capable, and confident.

Puberty Concerns

Delayed Puberty

Puberty doesn’t start at the exact same age for everyone, but if there are no signs of puberty by age 13 in girls or 14 in boys, or if growth has stalled for more than a year, it’s reasonable to check in with a pediatric endocrinologist.

Possible signs of delayed puberty include:

  • No breast development in girls by early teens
  • No testicular enlargement in boys by early teens
  • Little or no growth spurt
  • Ongoing fatigue, feeling cold, or weight changes

Delayed puberty can be related to family patterns, nutrition, training load in sports, thyroid conditions, or hormone signals from the brain.

We sort out what’s typical variation versus something that needs support. Some children simply need time and reassurance. Others may benefit from a short course of hormone therapy to help development move forward.

Early Puberty

When signs of puberty start too soon, often before age 8 in girls or 9 in boys, it can affect both final height and emotional well-being.

Families often notice:

  • Early breast development or pubic hair
  • Rapid height gain at a young age
  • Body odor or acne much earlier than expected
  • Mood or behavior changes that seem out of sync with age

Our job is to determine whether changes are benign and gradual or represent true precocious puberty that requires treatment. We use careful exams, labs, and sometimes imaging to understand the cause.

When treatment is needed, medications can gently pause puberty so growth plates have more time, and kids can develop at a more typical pace. Once treatment stops, puberty continues naturally, the goal is timing, not stopping development.

Thyroid Disorders

The thyroid is a small gland with a big job, helping regulate metabolism, growth, energy, and temperature. When thyroid hormones are out of balance, kids and adults can feel “off” in ways that are hard to explain.

We evaluate and treat conditions such as:

  • Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
  • Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
  • Thyroid nodules
  • A Goiter
  • Autoimmune thyroid disease, including Hashimoto’s and Graves’ disease

Possible symptoms include:

  • Fatigue or “brain fog”
  • Weight gain or loss that doesn’t match diet or activity
  • Feeling unusually cold or hot
  • Changes in heart rate, sleep, mood, or menstrual cycles
  • Neck fullness or a visible thyroid enlargement

Thyroid care at The Endocrine Co. includes targeted labs, ultrasound imaging when needed, and ongoing follow-up to keep you feeling as steady and well as possible.

Medically Supervised Weight Loss

Weight is influenced by far more than willpower. Hormones, metabolism, sleep, stress, medications, and life changes all play a role. Our medically supervised weight loss program is designed for people who want a deeper, more compassionate look at why their bodies are changing and a realistic plan to move forward.

Your visit may include:

  • Detailed history of weight changes, energy, and appetite
  • Lab testing to evaluate thyroid, insulin, and other hormones
  • Body composition analysis
  • Discussion of lifestyle, stress, and sleep patterns

Together, we build a personalized plan that may include nutrition guidance, movement strategies, behavior supports, and, when appropriate, medications to help reset metabolic pathways. The aim is sustainable, healthy change that protects muscle, energy, and confidence, not a quick fix.

Women’s Hormone Health

Women's Health

Hormones shape every season of womanhood, from the first period through pregnancy, perimenopause, and beyond. When those signals are out of balance, women may feel like strangers in their own bodies.

We care for concerns such as:

  • Irregular, heavy, or painful periods
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) symptoms
  • Thyroid disease
  • Perimenopause and menopause symptoms, including hot flashes, sleep changes, mood shifts, and weight gain

Visits are unhurried and collaborative. We talk through your goals, explain options clearly, and create a plan that may include hormone therapy, thyroid treatment, non-hormonal medications, and lifestyle strategies.

Men’s Hormone Health

Men’s Health

Men’s health is closely linked to hormone balance, particularly testosterone and thyroid function. When these levels shift, the changes can show up in energy, mood, muscle mass, and motivation.

We commonly evaluate:

  • Fatigue and low stamina
  • Decreased libido or erectile dysfunction
  • Mood changes or low motivation
  • Difficulty building or maintaining muscle
  • Weight gain around the midsection

After careful evaluation and labs, we discuss whether testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), thyroid support, or other interventions are appropriate, always weighing benefits, risks, and long-term health.

Not Sure Where Your Symptoms Fit? That's Okay.

Endocrine conditions often overlap. A child’s growth question might be tied to thyroid function. A woman’s weight changes may be connected to menopause. A man’s low energy could be due to both testosterone and thyroid levels.

You don’t have to know the diagnosis before you call.

We’ll listen to your story, connect the dots, and help you understand what’s going on and what comes next.
