Menopause Isn’t Just One Moment. It’s a Journey.

As October begins, I’ve been thinking a lot about change. In my world, that often means change in the body, especially the hormonal shifts women experience through perimenopause and menopause.

One thing I want every woman to know: menopause is not a single moment in time. It’s a journey, with different seasons along the way.

Perimenopause is the one I see catch women off guard most often. Cycles shift, sleep patterns change, moods and energy rise and fall, and hot flashes show up long before periods officially stop. This stage can stretch over several years, and just naming it can bring so much relief.

Menopause is technically defined after 12 months without a period, but by then your body has already been through years of transition.

And in postmenopause, the focus shifts again. Now it's about protecting bones, heart health, metabolism, and long-term wellbeing.

When we understand menopause as a journey, and not just a single milestone, we can prepare, seek help sooner, and feel less alone. That’s why I love my work. I get to walk with women through every stage, answering questions, easing fears, and tailoring care that truly fits life.

Because change doesn’t have to be scary. With clarity, care, and community, it can be empowering.
